As part of your auto loan contract, you agree to carry the required comprehensive and collision insurance on your vehicle for the life of the loan. This protects both you and our credit union from uninsured loss.

If a member allows their coverage to lapse or their policy does not meet the requirements in the loan contract, a collateral protection insurance (CPI) policy is placed on the loan, with the cost added to the member’s monthly payments. CPI protects the credit union, but does not cover the borrower, and is no substitute for traditional insurance.

You can avoid the added cost of CPI by keeping your insurance up to date. Should you receive a notice from our insurance department asking for proof of insurance, we encourage you to respond quickly to avoid inconvenience and added costs.
